Gina is a true believer in relationships first. She started teaching children at an early age as a babysitter for the neighborhood kids and continued by working at daycare centers though her college career. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and went on to pursue a Master of Educational Leadership at Prairie View A&M University. She began her teaching career as a first-grade teacher. She also served public school children as a Principal at both the elementary and secondary level and as the Deputy Superintendent for Instructional Services and Community Relations. Gina retired from her position at in a large, urban school district after 30 years of serving families within the same community and continues to form relationships with educators through her work with Relationship-Centered Learning.
